Oil Field Surveillance & Monitoring (new!!)

Overview
While oil companies continue to integrate their SCADA systems with corporate systems to achieve greater efficiency, they equally start installing video surveillance networks to avoid trespassing, vandalism and other unauthorized activities near the oil stations. The video must be of high quality and any loss can be troublesome. Thus, not only is important to install high quality cameras, but also reliable networking solutions should be implemented in order to provide real-time, uninterrupted video and measured data transmission. What is also quite crucial when installing networks in the oil stations, is the ruggedized design of the networking equipment for resisting the harsh conditions and operating without interruption.
A Middle East oil company opted to use Korenix complete networking solution which exceeds all their requirements of providing a reliable networking infrastructure inside an oil plant.
Alongside the oil pipeline and around the plant Korenix JetNet 5012G series switches are installed which connect to video cameras and measuring instruments such as temperature controlling equipment, fire detecting devices and oil quality check meters to collect all the data through their 8 Fast Ethernet ports. The rugged IP31 grade aluminum design of JetNet 5012G switches with -25~70oC operating temperature permits users to undoubtedly install them under overheated environments of oil fields. The switches then connect together using the 2 Giga SFP combo ports for high speed extended data transmission over optical fiber cables. Here the system installers greatly benefit from the MSR technology of the JetNet 5012G which further allows switches sending non-stop and reliable data through the connected multiple rings.
Using their 2 other gigabit SFP ports, the switches uplink the extended high-bandwidth data to the JetNet 6524G stackable managed Layer3 switch installed in the remotely located control room. The JetNet 6524G is chosen by the network system constructor to be implemented in the control center for its complete layer 3 functionalities, which allows managing routing between different IP subnets and extended multiple groups of the switches spread throughout the oil plant area.
Administrators at the control station further benefit from the advanced management functionalities of the Korenix Din rail and rackmount solutions to easily discover devices automatically through LLDP protocol and remotely manage their operation via the JetView Pro Korenix network management system or the SNMP.
With the supported Access Control List of the JetNet 6524G, the SCADA or other systems of the control station are further secured in specific subnet by allowing only the permitted users listed in ACL to access the systems, resulting safer network connectivity.
Using Korenix’s complete networking solution oil distributing company was capable of remotely controlling and monitoring the oil plant while providing real-time video surveillance and data control from the monitoring station.
