The standard RS-232 protocol has been widely used in most of industrial computer systems for serial port communication. However, it has its limitations in transmission speed, range, and networking capabilities. The RS-422 and RS-485 standard protocols, on the other hand, overcome the limitations mentioned above by utilizing differential voltage lines for data and control signals. The JetCon 2101ir Repeater enables an existing RS-422/485 network to cover a longer range. It extends the communication distance by 1200 meters and increases the maximum connected nodes to 32. JetCon 2101ir is also equipped with high voltage isolation to protect connected RS-422/485 networks.
