JetCon 2401

The JetCon 2401 series supports two transmission configurations, serial Fiber Point to Point full duplex and serial Fiber Ring half duplex.

Point-to-Point Transmission Mode

In a Point-to-Point configuration, two fibers are required between the two converters, one for data in each direction (RX and TX).

Ring Transmission Mode

To expand the number of connected serial devices and connection range, Serial Fiber Ring configuration requires one fiber between TX and RX to form a loop. Each transmitter (TX port) is tied to the following converter's receiver (RX port), starting at a master node and continuing around to each slave and back to the master. All data sent from the master or preceding slaves is echoed back out the fiber transmitter to the rest of the slaves and eventually back to the master node.
