Korenix has a new addition in its JetNet 5428G series 19" managed switches – the JetNet 5428G-2G-2FX Industrial Rackmount Managed Ethernet Ring Switch, designed with 24 Fast Ethernet plus 2 Giga combo ports and 2 additional 100M/Gigabit SFP sockets for providing Fast Ethernet/Gigabit over optical fiber transmission in extended distance applications in factory automation, intelligent transportation systems, etc.

The 2 Gigabit combo ports are typically chosen as the ring path, whereas the 2 additional SFP fiber ports can work in 100M or Gigabit speed to connect to lower switches in the fields. As a result, to fit in applications, where flexible fiber transmission is required, instead of using several copper to fiber media converters with the JetNet 5428G switch, users can greatly save cost and installation space by choosing a single JetNet 5428G-2G-2FX model.
Moreover, with its exclusive interface design and the MultiRing technology, JetNet 5428G-2G-FX brings flexibility to reliably connect 2 Gigabit Fiber Rings or 1 Gigabit ring plus 1x100M Fiber ring. Here, the reliability of the transmitted data in the rings will be achieved with the patented MSR network redundancy technology which provides seamless restoration time. To ensure a broader use of the switches, the JetNet 5428G-2G-2FX series support MSTP legacy redundancy technology as well, which enables users building redundant networks while becoming compatible with central room’s rackmount switches, which do not support Korenix ring structure.
For efficient and easy network management, the JetNet 5428G-2G-2FX is designed with advanced Layer 2 management and security features, including QoS, 256 VLANs, Private VLAN and QinQ, IGMP query and snooping, DHCP option 82, and much more other features which guarantee the high quality and enhanced security of the transmitted data. Moreover, the new switch is equipped with LLDP technology and supports the optional Korenix patented JetView Pro Network Management System, allowing users to automatically visualize topology of over 1000 devices in large scale industrial networks.
In addition to the network redundancy technologies and the versatile high-end management features, the fan-less design and the -25~70oC wide operating temperature make JetNet 5428G-2G-2FX the best fitted device for industrial monitoring rooms where flexible and longer distance data transmission is needed.
