Korenix releases a new Firmware with additional Modbus/TCP, MSTP and Private VLAN/QinQ features in its JetNet 5628G series substation certified switches for providing a larger connectivity of advanced Ethernet based devices with enhanced network reliability and secure connection in power substations, electric utilities, intelligent transportation systems, etc. |
 The new Modbus/TCP registers implemented in JetNet 5628G series enable users to read the information from the connected advanced Ethernet based devices, such as SCADA systems through their own Modbus/TCP based progress/ display/ monitor applications, and also monitor the status of the switches easily.
Furthermore, the additional MSTP function allows building redundant network infrastructures with high reliability and scalability, while ensuring a broader use of the JetNet 5628G switches as it becomes compatible with central room’s rackmount switches, whereas the new Private VLAN and QinQ features help improve the network security, simplify network VLAN assignment and resolve VLAN shortage problem in specific applications.
With the new firmware, the switches get more flexibility in connecting with a larger number of Ethernet devices while providing reliable and high performance data transmission and more simple switch monitoring.
The JetNet 5628G series are IEC 61850-3 managed switches with a 3 slot modular design which enables users to benefit from up to 18 Fiber and 24 Copper ports for flexibly building network infrastructures within large, complex environments with reduced device unit costs. For high-speed backbone links, the switches offer 4 on-board gigabit combo ports. The switches are approved for different vertical market certifications, such as IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 for power substations, NEMA TS1/TS2 for intelligent traffic control system and EN 50121-4 for railway trackside.
Other than the provided RSTP / MSTP redundancy technologies, the switches also support Korenix’s own patented Multiple Super Ring redundancy, which allows forming up to 12 100Mbps plus 2 gigabit rings for redundant copper and fiber uplink connections with the capability to seamlessly restore the networks once a failure occurs.
To provide best quality and highest security of the transmitted data with simple and efficient management, the JetNet 5628G series provide outstanding parameters, such as the QoS, VLAN, IGMP snooping, DHCP, LACP for enhanced data transmission performance and LLDP, SNMP and Korenix patented JetView Pro NMS for automatic device topology and visualization and efficient network management.
The wide range of JetNet 5628G series include different models to support various power input types, including 85~264VAC, 88~370VDC and 24/48VDC for flexible use in field power constructions. The rugged fanless design with -40~85oC operating temperature range of the switches along with the conformance to different vertical market certifications are a strong proof that the switches are the most powerful, cost-effective and reliable solutions for industrial networking.
